Circle Breathing~Release That Stress

All of us go through feelings of stress.  Sometimes events in our life can be overwhelming.  However the greatest news is that you have a choice!  A choice to remain in that stressful state or to change that stressful state into great peace.


Whenever you feel stressed, know that you have a choice:  to continue to be stressed or to practice peace.  Yoga is all about being in control of these emotions that we all go through.  Learning how to manage stress and making the right choices for your well being is most important in regards to a better way of life.



These breathing techniques will help you to feel better and release all of the anxiety and stress that you are experiencing.


Close your eyes, relax and take 5 to 10 circle breaths.  Soon your body and mind will shift into circle breathing automatically.  Even counting from 1 to 10 while you are breathing helps you to relax and release stress.


Try this breathing exercise as many times a day as you can, and you will begin to feel the difference in your body and mind.  It will help your mind and body form a strong, positive reaction towards controlling stress and anxiety.



  •  Inhale, and stretch your arms over your head, giving a sigh of relief and lowering your arms    as you exhale.  Relax and keep your arms lowered for the rest of the exercise.
  • Now imagine that your're inhaling a stream of peaceful energy into your body from the top of your head to the sole of your feet.  
  • Inhale the warm stream into your whole body, then imagine it flowing all through your body.  Flowing through every inch of your body.
  • Exhale, and mentally follow the flow of your breathing, and again inhale the peaceful energy into your body.
  • Continue this breathing pattern for 5 to 10 breaths.   You can also use circle breathing for a longer period as a relaxing form of meditation.
